How I recommend you survive the dining halls:
- THE SALAD BAR will be your best friend, which isn't so bad because there are surprising number of options!!
- the endless pasta at Parkside and Cafe 84 (EVK needs to step up its game, I've always thought that)
- as a general rule, don't eat the veggie burgers...
- mix things to make your own complete meal!
- bring tupperware & take fruit
My friends and I, a few weeks ago, had a sort of Top Chef-esque challenge where we had to come up with the most creative and appetizing dish ONLY using ingredients readily available at Parkside. Naturally, I, the only vegan, was the most limited. But I managed!
Naturally, I think I won. But seriously, it's totally possible to scramble ingredients from all over any of the dining halls and not starve (I even considered adding cereal to my dish, but that would've been gross right? Right). They have tofu dishes now! And just FYI, my friends last year used to steal the soy milk cartons from EVK pretty much weekly so I'm not saying I'm recommending that... but a girl's gotta eat?
Here's me, with a tupperware of Cafe 84 pasta. Alllways bring tupperware to steal some pasta or just take some fruit for when you get hungry and don't want to leave your bed...
